A recurrence of varicocele may be a result of a missed spermatic vein during surgery, and it is recommended to change the treatment, if the varicocele was previously ligated with an open inguinal incision, it should be changed to laparoscopic varicocele high ligation or microscopic varicocele ligation. Alternatively, interventional spermatic vein embolization can be performed, which is a recent surgical procedure that uses intra-seminal vein embolization or injection of sclerosing agents and has a very low recurrence rate. The laparoscopic approach has many advantages and has a magnifying effect to avoid missed ligation of the spermatic veins and achieve the best treatment results.
