How to operate on tooth-containing cysts

There are many different types of procedures for tooth-containing cysts. If the cyst is small, the entire cyst can be removed after the tooth is extracted in one visit. If the cyst is large, a pocketing procedure is performed to open the cyst and decompress it so that the cyst fluid can continue to drain out of the cyst and not pool inside. After decompression, the jawbone can gradually regenerate and the cystic cavity gradually becomes smaller. If there is some residual after surgery, a very small procedure can be done to remove the residual cyst. Usually the treatment period for pouching is long, sometimes taking 0.5-2 years.
