Sore throat is not a common symptom in patients with novel coronavirus pneumonia, but may occur in patients with atypical presentations. Most patients with novel coronavirus infection have a fever with a dry cough, general malaise, and progressive dyspnea, while some patients have a milder onset of symptoms or even no significant fever. A small number of patients have atypical clinical manifestations, often with other systemic manifestations as the first symptom, such as poor appetite, poor mental health, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, panic, chest tightness, conjunctivitis, and muscle pain in the limbs and back. However, no matter which of the above symptoms occur, they cannot be used as a basis for confirming the diagnosis of novel coronavirus. Currently, only patients with positive pathogenic test results can be finally diagnosed.
