Propofol is a rapid-acting general anesthetic that produces a rapid hypnotic effect within 40 seconds of intravenous injection at therapeutic doses, with minimal euphoric effects. Propofol is a short-acting intravenous anesthetic indicated for the induction and maintenance of general anesthesia, and may also be used for sedation of adult patients in intensive care undergoing mechanical ventilation and for conscious sedation during surgical and diagnostic procedures. This product may cause adverse reactions such as hypotension, localized pain and transient apnea during induction, nausea, vomiting and headache during resuscitation. It should be noted that the drug is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to the product or any of the components of the product, and caution is recommended in patients with severely impaired cardiac function. It should also be noted that Propofol Injection should be administered by a trained anesthesiologist or a physician in the intensive care unit, and should not be administered without authorization. The patient should be monitored at all times during administration, and equipment should be available to maintain an open airway, artificial ventilation, oxygenation, and other resuscitation equipment.
