Do diabetics have to control their diet?

Diabetes experts vividly and graphically summarize the treatment of diabetes as the “five horses”. The five horses are diet therapy, exercise therapy, medication, psychotherapy and diabetes monitoring. Diet therapy is the horse that drives the carriage. A proper diet is a lifelong treatment for people with diabetes. Among the causes of diabetes, unscientific lifestyle, unreasonable eating habits such as love of fatty, greasy, high-calorie, high-fat food, excessive alcohol consumption, and unconcerned enjoyment of delicious food play a big role. High blood sugar in diabetic patients is the bane of all damage, the key to treatment is to control blood sugar to reach near normal, and diet is the foundation. Diabetics are looking forward to a miracle drug that will allow them to eat as much as they want and still have good blood sugar control. Unfortunately, there is no drug that can meet this luxury of patients. As a result, a part of the unscrupulous vendors seize the psychology of patients and confuse them by advertising to take drugs without controlling their diet. This delays the patient’s condition and causes certain economic losses. Currently commonly used oral hypoglycemic drugs, only two effects, stimulate the aunt islet to increase the amount of insulin secretion and improve the sensitivity of surrounding tissues to insulin. Injecting insulin is to increase the external aid. If the source of blood glucose is not controlled by diet moderation, it will contribute to the weight gain of the patient and aggravate insulin resistance, so that the dosage of medication is getting bigger and bigger, but the efficacy is poor, and the evil consequence is the early appearance of comorbidities, fast development and seriousness of the disease. Therefore, no matter what the situation of diabetic patients, reasonable dietary treatment is the first priority. The treatment of diabetes is comprehensive, and diet therapy is the primary treatment measure, and is a treatment measure that needs to be adhered to throughout life.
