How often is the best time to check the lung CT

The frequency of CT lung examinations depends on the cause of the disease and how it changes, and cannot be generalized. Lung CT mainly uses detectors and precise X-rays to perform tomography on the detected area, which can detect small lesions, but this test is radioactive and should not be performed many times. In case of lung infection, it is recommended to check once every half month to once a month, and after the infection disappears, it is not necessary to check again; in case of tuberculosis disease, and the condition is more stable, it is recommended to check once every six months to once a year; in case of lung tumor, it is recommended to check the lung CT once every three months to once every six months after the neutralization treatment, and after the condition is stable, it can be checked once a year. If the patient’s survival period is more than 5 years, the examination of lung CT can be suspended. In addition, when performing lung CT examinations, clothing with metallic substances should be removed from the examination area to avoid artifacts that may affect the examination results.
