Dai Lao Han had abdominal gallbladder surgery in our hospital and recovered well after the surgery. On the morning of the third day after the surgery, the patient suddenly felt headache, blurred vision, and soon both eyes were completely blind, and he had high fever. Doctors immediately checked the cranial CT and found that there was a huge tumor compressing the optic nerve in the cranium. However, the patient had just undergone a major abdominal surgery, and the pituitary function was obviously low, which increased the risk of re-operation and even led to the patient’s death. However, unlike previous transnasal pituitary tumor surgeries, the patient’s nasal cavity was narrow, the pterygoid sinus was mutated, and the tumor was huge, which made the surgery much more difficult and risky. On the day of surgery, Dr. Jianping Zhang, the chief physician, in cooperation with Dr. Jianxiang Jin, used advanced navigation technology to carefully grind away the thickened butterfly bone and gradually remove the tumor in pieces, and the surgery took 3 hours. The patient woke up after surgery and could see blurred images in both eyes, and his vision basically recovered 1 week after surgery. After 10 days of careful care, the patient was successfully discharged from the hospital.
