Is a small eosinophilic infiltration of the cardia serious?

A small amount of eosinophilic infiltration in the cardia is considered to be caused by chronic gastritis, eosinophilic gastritis and other disease factors. After active treatment, it is generally not serious; however, if not effectively treated chronic gastritis can evolve into atrophic gastritis or even gastric cancer, eosinophilic gastroenteritis can be complicated by pyloric obstruction and other complications, which are more serious in such cases. 1. Chronic gastritis: the prognosis of chronic non-atrophic gastritis is better after active treatment, and such cases are not serious; if complicated with atrophic gastritis or with intestinal epithelial hyperplasia, or even induced gastric cancer, the prognosis is worse, and such cases are more serious. 2. Eosinophilic granulomatous inflammation: it can be cured by avoiding contact with allergens and using prednisone, budesonide, disodium cromoglycate and other medicines in accordance with doctor’s instruction, which is not considered serious; however, if eosinophils invade into the myenteric layer and plasma membrane layer, it may lead to pyloric obstruction and other complications, which is more serious. When a small amount of eosinophilic infiltration in the cardia occurs, it is recommended to go to the hospital and ask the doctor to make a judgment, rather than making a blind judgment on your own.
