How long can you live with targeted lung cancer treatment?

The survival time of lung cancer targeted therapy patients is about 26-34 months, and the specific survival time is related to the time of drug resistance emergence. Patients with lung cancer need to undergo genetic testing before targeted therapy, and targeted selection of targeted drugs can effectively improve the efficacy and reduce toxic side effects. The time to develop resistance to targeted therapy is about 6-18 months. If patients’ genetic test results show that they can obtain better treatment effect, they can choose other targeted drugs to continue treatment, such as second- and third-generation targeted drugs. The current survival time for lung cancer patients with targeted therapy is about 26-34 months. If patients have a short time to develop drug resistance, the survival time will be significantly shortened. Patients with lung cancer should undergo relevant examinations before targeted therapy to clarify the condition of lesions and pay attention to any side effects such as rash, diarrhea, nausea, mouth ulcer, liver and kidney damage, hypertension, blood clots, bleeding, proteinuria, etc. during the course of medication.
