H. pylori infection is categorized into type 1 and type 2. Type 1 H. pylori is a more virulent infection, which carries the risk of developing chronic gastritis, peptic ulcer and gastric cancer, etc. However, due to the antimicrobial treatment of quadruple therapy, which is currently being used clinically and has a better therapeutic efficacy, H. pylori type 1 is not considered to be a serious problem and can be treated in a timely manner. In case of H. pylori type 1 infection, it is recommended to actively undergo H. pylori eradication treatment. Currently, the commonly used eradication program is quadruple therapy, i.e. one proton pump inhibitor such as omeprazole, two antibiotics such as amoxicillin, furazolidone and one bismuth agent such as bismuth potassium citrate. The presence of Helicobacter pylori is recommended to be treated with timely medication, and the above medications need to be followed carefully.
