What are the characteristics of atherosclerosis caused by diabetes?

From the patients we see at the Sugar Foot Center, many patients may have arterial vascular disease, in addition to the arteries of the lower extremities, there are also renal arteries, cardiovascular arteries, etc. Almost all the arteries of the body are involved, which has a great impact on health. Therefore, early prevention is necessary, today we will open together to see, what are the general characteristics of atherosclerosis! First, there will be chest pain. Chest pain is a typical symptom of atherosclerosis in the coronary arteries. Coronary arteries are the main channel for supplying blood to the heart, and once atherosclerotic plaques appear, they will affect the blood supply to the heart muscle. Early plaque formation is small and has little effect on blood flow, but may cause asymptomatic myocardial ischemia. In the middle and late stages, the plaques are larger in size, which will obstruct the blood supply to the heart muscle and cause angina pectoris, and in serious cases, completely block the blood vessels, which will cause myocardial infarction. Second, feeling dizzy and headache. Our brain tissue is very sensitive to ischemia and hypoxia, so when atherosclerotic plaques appear in the brain arteries at the initial stage, a series of symptoms such as neurasthenia, abnormal emotion and low judgment will appear. Among them, neurasthenia mainly manifests as dizziness, dizziness, headache, drowsiness, memory loss, easy fatigue, etc. Third, tinnitus and deafness. If symptoms such as unexplained tinnitus and deafness appear, we must be alert, which may indicate the emergence of early atherosclerosis or coronary heart disease. Because our inner ear receptors are very intolerant to ischemia and hypoxia and are more sensitive to ischemia and hypoxia than the heart muscle, once a plaque obstructs the blood supply to the inner ear, the symptoms of tinnitus and deafness will soon be triggered. Fourth, earlobe skin wrinkles. The earlobe is composed of connective tissue, which is very sensitive to ischemia. When atherosclerotic plaques appear in the arterial blood vessels, resulting in impaired blood microcirculation, wrinkles will appear in the earlobes. V. Increased pain in the distal end of the hand and foot. For vascular injury, the more distal the patient is affected, the more the patient will feel pain and numbness in the hands and feet. For example, in the lower extremities, there is a progression of pain – intermittent claudication – resting pain as the disease progresses, and it is also one of the main causes of gangrene. Of course, there are certainly other symptoms besides, and it is important to understand that different patients respond to these symptoms differently, some patients feel them significantly and others have no symptoms at all. So I recommend that patients at potential risk like this, it is best to go to the hospital regularly for relevant examinations, with the help of medicine to avoid missed diagnoses and misdiagnoses.
