Sweating in the lower half of the body can be divided into physiologic and pathologic. Sweating in the upper and lower body in summer, or after exercise is physiological and does not need to be diagnosed and treated. Normal sweating has the function of regulating body temperature, harmonizing Ying and Wei (making the body’s internal and external qi smooth, each in its own way), and moisturizing the skin. However, if only a certain part of the body sweats, it is a pathological phenomenon. Pathological lower body sweating is mostly caused by wind-phlegm, phlegm stasis, wind-dampness and other blockages in the upper body meridians and collaterals, and the qi and blood can not flow all over the body, which is caused by the imbalance. In treatment, wind-phlegm is treated with Hanxia Baijutsu Tianma Tang, phlegm-stasis is treated with Ercheng Tang combined with Hematophagus and Blood Stasis Tang, and wind-dampness is treated with Licorice and Herbaceous Zizi Tang. Semixia Baijutsu Tianma Tang quenches wind and resolves phlegm (dispels wind and resolves phlegm), and invigorates blood and channels. Er Chen Tang combining with Blood Palace and Blood Stasis Tang strengthens the spleen and resolves phlegm, activates Blood circulation and removes Blood stasis. Licorice and Herbals Soup warms Yang and disperses cold, dispels dampness and relieves pain. The use of drugs should be under the guidance of a physician. Do not self-medicate to avoid delaying the condition.
