How long can you live after chemotherapy for lung cancer?

The survival time of lung cancer patients after chemotherapy treatment is related to the time of lung cancer diagnosis, clinical stage, pathological type, treatment response and patient’s physical quality. The common treatment methods for lung cancer patients are surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, targeted therapy, etc. The survival period of early stage lung cancer patients is generally more than 5 years after complete removal of tumor by surgery with chemotherapy, and some patients can reach more than 10 years. If lung cancer patients have metastasis and spread of other organs, the survival period will be shortened. After chemotherapy, the survival period can be extended, the specific time varies from person to person, the 5-year survival rate is generally less than 10%, and the survival time is generally not more than 2 years. During chemotherapy, lung cancer patients need to pay attention to regular blood tests and biochemical indexes such as liver function tests. It is usually recommended to eat more fresh vegetables and fruits and avoid spicy and stimulating foods.
