In recent years, with the advancement of molecular biology research, the survival of lung adenocarcinoma has been greatly prolonged due to the wide application of targeted therapy. However, there is no effective targeted therapy drug for squamous lung cancer, coupled with the fact that its type is mainly of central type, it often cannot be completely surgically removed because of invasion or encirclement of large blood vessels and trachea, and radiotherapy is relatively insensitive, so the treatment effect is unsatisfactory, the remission rate of symptoms such as coughing up blood and breath-holding is low, and the average survival is short. Iodine 125 implantation is a kind of internal radiation therapy by implanting sealed particles of radioactive iodine 125 evenly into the tumor under CT guidance, because the radiation radius of iodine 125 particles is 1.7cm, that is to say, after implantation, the particles can effectively kill the tumor tissues within its surrounding radiation radius without damaging the peripheral normal tissues. Therefore, as long as the particle source is reasonable, it can kill the tumor tissues around the blood vessels and trachea without damaging the normal organs, achieving the same effect as surgical resection. This treatment method is characterized by minimally invasive, high dose local radiation targeting, no side effects of systemic chemotherapy such as vomiting and low white blood cells, and no complications of local skin damage and radiation pneumonia associated with traditional radiotherapy. Since 2008, we have been using iodine 125 particle implantation to treat more than 300 cases of lung cancer, among which 160 cases of squamous lung cancer have achieved satisfactory results, with an efficiency of 100% according to the evaluation standard of solid tumors.
