Can ovarian cancer be cured in the middle and late stages?

In general, ovarian cancer cannot be cured in the middle and late stages because ovarian cancer is more commonly seen as direct metastasis and distant metastasis, which can easily metastasize to the greater omentum, abdominal implantation, fallopian tube and uterine cavity, while distant metastasis can reach the lung and liver, which cannot be treated by surgery. Local excision of the ovaries and the surrounding adjacent organs during surgery is not curative, and postoperative radiotherapy is required to prolong the patient’s survival. The ovaries are located deep in the pelvic cavity and cannot be detected early. When found, most women have ascites or cachexia, and the metastatic tumor cells cannot be removed surgically.
