The survival rate of 60 year olds with advanced lung cancer is about 50%-60% in 3 years and about 30% in 5 years, depending on the specific pathological type of lung cancer, the patient’s physical condition and the treatment he/she can receive. If the patient is in good health and can receive synchronized radiotherapy or immunotherapy, a 5-year survival rate of 30% or more is possible, because immunosuppressive agents are very effective for advanced lung cancer. Targeted drugs can be used for those with genetic mutations, and the median survival time of targeted drugs is more than 3 years. Therefore, although advanced lung cancer is an elderly disease, it can also be treated actively, mainly according to the symptomatic treatment of different conditions.
