Minimally invasive gallstone surgery in a few days

The number of days to be discharged from the hospital after minimally invasive gallstone surgery depends on the patient’s specific situation and cannot be generalized. Minimally invasive gallstone surgery, which clinically mostly refers to laparoscopic cholecystectomy, is a less invasive and faster recovery procedure that generally requires 3-5 days of hospitalization. If the treatment is performed in a large medical center, the patient can be discharged the afternoon of the surgery or early the next morning. If the patient has preoperative combined acute cholecystitis, or even septicemia or perforation, or postoperative infection of the wound or abdominal cavity, or even complications such as biliary fistula, the hospital stay will be significantly longer and may take about half a month to a month, or even longer. Patients are advised to take medication as prescribed by the doctor, pay attention to the cleanliness and dryness of the wound to avoid infection, do not eat too much oily food, take part in physical exercise and rest regularly after surgery.
