Gastric angle resection, as the name suggests, is a type of gastric resection, and it is rare to remove the angle of the stomach alone in clinical practice. Gastric resection surgery is more commonly applied to stomach tumors, including distal gastrectomy, proximal gastrectomy and total gastrectomy, depending on the location of the tumor, nature of the tumor and whether distant metastasis occurs, etc., the most suitable way is chosen for each patient. Gastric angle is at the intersection of gastric body and gastric sinus, roughly in the middle of the stomach, near the lesser curvature of the stomach. Tumors in this area are more difficult to be treated, and generally need to be resected for a large portion of the stomach, i.e., resecting about 3/4~4/5 of the gastric tissues, therefore, simple gastric angular resection is relatively uncommon. If the tumor is malignant, the surrounding lymph nodes need to be cleared at the time of surgery.
