What are the characteristics of a dry cough in lung cancer

Dry cough of lung cancer is usually characterized by irritating dry cough without sputum or little sputum, which may be accompanied by chest pain, and coughing up sputum with blood in sputum may occur in advanced stage. Compared with common dry cough, dry cough of lung cancer is irritating dry cough, which lasts for a longer time, recurring and never cured, but clinically it is difficult to tell whether the dry cough is caused by lung cancer or not. Meanwhile, dry cough of lung cancer may be accompanied by chest pain, which is mild discomfort in the chest in early stage, and may be painful in middle or late stage because of local invasion of pleural wall by lung tumor, and the pain is obvious when coughing. If long-term dry cough occurs, one should go to the hospital in time, clarify the cause of the disease and treat it actively to avoid delaying the condition.
