How to treat viral and bacterial diarrhea in infants

Viral diarrhea in infants is mainly symptomatic treatment, oral antidiarrheal, rehydration salts and antipyretic drugs as prescribed by the doctor. Bacterial diarrhea can be treated with oral anti-infective and probiotic drugs as prescribed by the doctor. Viral diarrhea in infants is caused by viral infections in the intestinal tract, and children will have symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea and watery stools. Antidiarrheal medications such as montelukast may be prescribed. Oral rehydration salts may be given to prevent dehydration. If you have a fever of 38.5 or higher, take an oral antipyretic, such as acetaminophen, as prescribed by your doctor. Bacterial diarrhea is usually caused by a bacterial infection of the gastrointestinal tract and is accompanied by diarrhea, nausea and vomiting. If your baby has a significant bacterial infection, take oral antibacterial medications, such as cefixime, as prescribed by your doctor. Probiotic medications such as Bifidobacterium bifidum and Saccharomyces boulardii can also be taken to help relieve symptoms. When an infant develops viral or bacterial diarrhea, it is recommended to go to the hospital in time. The above medications need to be taken as prescribed by the doctor to avoid adverse effects.
