Yin deficiency and night sweating (sweating abnormally after going to sleep and stopping after waking up) refers to a deficiency of yin fluid deficiency and a deficiency of heat with a relatively high level of yang qi, which can cause hot flashes and night sweating, dryness of the mouth and throat, and other syndromes. This syndrome can be divided into lung yin deficiency, heart yin deficiency, liver yin deficiency and kidney yin deficiency according to clinical diagnosis, and can be treated with different medications. 1. Lung yin deficiency: the common causes are dryness and heat injury to the lungs, damage to the yin and fluid in the late stage of fever, chronic coughing and yin depletion to the lungs. The performance is dry cough without sputum, or sputum is small and sticky with five heart heat, hot flashes and night sweats. Commonly used proprietary Chinese medicines are Yangyin Qinglong Pill. 2. Yin deficiency of the heart: the common cause is due to excessive thinking, warmth and fire. It manifests as insomnia, night sweating, heartburn, palpitations, dry mouth and throat, and fever in the hands and feet. Commonly used medicines include Tianwang Xinxin Tonic Dan and so on. 3. Liver Yin Deficiency: The common causes are emotional disorders (unsettled emotions), liver depression and fire (liver qi is blocked, leading to the production of fire and heat) and injury to the yin, the late stage of fever, or kidney yin insufficiency affecting the liver yin. The manifestations include dizziness, astigmatism, and hidden pain in the abdomen and ribs accompanied by night sweating. Commonly used traditional Chinese medicines are Qi Ju Di Huang Wan and so on. 4. Kidney Yin Deficiency: Common causes are depletion of kidney yin due to prolonged illness, too frequent sexual intercourse, and the late stage of warm and hot diseases. The performance of lumbago and tinnitus, spermatorrhea in men, women’s menstrual disorders with night sweating, commonly used traditional Chinese medicines such as Zuo Gui Wan. Yin deficiency and night sweating should be treated with medication under the guidance of traditional Chinese medicine practitioners, and should not believe in the so-called local methods, so as not to delay the condition and cause adverse consequences.
