What causes a woman’s calf pain

Calf pain in women is associated with certain pathologic causes or improper lifestyle habits.
1. Pathological causes
(1) Neurogenic calf pain: degenerative lesions of lumbar intervertebral discs and vertebrae, ossification of ligamentum flavum of the posterior longitudinal ligament causing spinal stenosis, etc., but the sciatic nerve root and the sciatic nerve trunk of the peripheral tissues of mechanical compression, inflammatory stimulation, etc., resulting in pain in the calf.
(2) Calf pain of vascular origin: stenosis, embolism, occlusion of calf arteries and venous vessels can cause pain due to ischemia of calf muscles and nerves.
(3) Skeletal muscle and joint calf pain: trauma, inflammation, tumor, etc. occurring in the calf bones, tibiofibular interphalangeal joints, posterior calf triceps muscles, ligaments and other parts of the calf can cause calf pain.
2. Improper living habits: prolonged sitting and standing, improper lumbar force, insufficient exercise or improper exercise, etc., can occur in the calf muscle, fascia injury or severe pain.
