The difference between HCC and common liver cancer

HCC is the acronym for primary hepatocellular carcinoma. The difference between HCC and common liver cancer mainly lies in the scope and defined nature, as follows: First, the scope included is different. Common liver cancer refers to all malignant tumors originating from the liver, and in clinical practice, it mainly includes two major categories: first, HCC originating from hepatocytes; second, cholangiocarcinoma originating from intrahepatic bile duct epithelium carcinoma. HCC accounts for 90% of common liver cancer, and the other 10% is cholangiocellular carcinoma which originates from bile duct cells, so the clinical term hepatocellular carcinoma refers to primary hepatocellular carcinoma, i.e. HCC.
