How to review regularly for patients with hepatocellular carcinoma with portal vein thrombosis?

The treatment of liver cancer with portal vein thrombosis is like a candy cane, surgery is just one of them, and there are many other treatments to follow. One month after surgery, patients should return to the hospital for review, including liver function, blood count, B-ultrasound, and possibly enhanced CT or even MRI, depending on the patient’s condition; B-ultrasound, MRI and other imaging examinations can show whether there is tumor residue or tumor recurrence in the liver. If there is neither tumor residue nor recurrence, the next review and treatment plan will be decided according to the patient’s surgical method at that time. If the surgery removed the tumor and portal vein thrombus, the patient is advised to follow up closely after the surgery; if the surgery only removed the tumor and took out the thrombus, the patient is asked to start the follow-up radiotherapy and interventional treatment.
