Gas poisoning results in a vegetative state that is generally more difficult to recover from. The longer the vegetative state lasts, and once the vegetative state has lasted more than 3 months, it is rare to awaken, and there is about a 50% chance that a person in a vegetative state will recover to some extent within 6 months. If the patient does not recover during this period, permanent brain dysfunction occurs, and this group rarely recovers and is less likely to recover. The prognosis for children is usually better than for adults; the prognosis for traumatized patients is better than for non-traumatized patients. At present, there is a lack of effective treatment for vegetative state, which mainly adopts general treatment, drug treatment, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, neuromodulation therapy, rehabilitation therapy and so on. It is recommended that the patient’s family, timely and actively seek medical treatment, standardized treatment under the guidance of the doctor.
