What are the symptoms of diarrhoea?

Diarrhoea is typically characterised by more frequent bowel movements than is customary, thin stools, increased water content and a daily volume of more than 200g, or containing undigested food or pus, blood or mucus. Diarrhoea is often accompanied by varying degrees of abdominal pain, a feeling of urgency to defecate and anal discomfort.
