Four massage methods to prevent and control autumn diarrhea in babies

  The ancient name of Tui Na is “massage”, which uses the “hand” as a treatment tool.  ”The four-part Tui Na method can strengthen the spleen and warm the yang through gentle stimulation, enhance the function of the intestine to separate the turbidity and promote the absorption of water in the large intestine to stop diarrhea, which is suitable for self-learning at home.” Prof. Xu said that for mild diarrhea, Tuina should be done 1-2 times a day for 5 days as a course of treatment; for severe diarrhea, medication should be given as the main treatment, together with Tuina treatment, twice a day. “Doing massage on the baby must be gentle movements, the baby should be very comfortable and happy when being pushed.”  Specific manipulation techniques: Part 1: Hand manipulation Tonic spleen: with the child sitting or lying on his back, hold the child’s thumb with the index and middle fingers, and perform circular pushing at the threaded surface of the end of the thumb for about 300 times. When pushing, the force surface is spiral, and the action should be even and not unstable from side to side; Tonic colon: push the tip of the child’s index finger along the radial side of the index finger to the root of the index finger in a straight line about 200 times; Part 2: abdominal operations Rub the navel and tianshu: with the child lying on his back and legs slightly bent, place the index, middle and ring fingers on the three acupuncture points and do circular rubbing 200 times. Clockwise and counterclockwise directions are fine, the technique should be light to heavy, moderate strength, do not rub on the surface; abdominal massage: use the palm of the hand or four fingers in the child’s entire abdomen to do counterclockwise circular motion for 5 minutes. The action should be gentle, coordinated and relaxed, with force on the surface of the body; Part III: lower limb operations One hand to hold the lower leg of the child, one hand with the end of the thumb to rub the foot three points for 1 minute; Part IV: back operations Rub the tail of the turtle: the child lying prone, with the end of the fingers of one hand force, the end of the tail vertebrae obliquely upward 200 times. The nails should be clipped and the movements should be gentle, avoiding the anus. When pushing, the force surface is a straight line in a single direction, the action should be fast; pinch the spine: pinch the skin of the back of the child’s spine, from the tail of the turtle up along the midline of the spine straight pinch to the neck, pinch while moving upward, every pinch three times and then lift the pinch upward, repeat the operation 10 times. The action should be consistent, the force should be uniform, not twisted.
