Antibiotic-induced diarrhea

Misuse of antibiotics can usually lead to disturbance of the normal flora of the gastrointestinal tract, which can cause diarrhea symptoms and, in severe cases, infectious diseases. Symptomatic treatment is needed under the guidance of a professional doctor. Common causes Antibiotics have strong bactericidal and antibacterial effects and are mainly used to treat various bacterial infections or infectious diseases caused by pathogenic microorganisms. However, when antibiotics are abused, it will not only destroy the harmful bacteria in the intestinal tract, but also lead to the partial removal of beneficial flora, causing dysbiosis in the intestinal tract. Symptoms The time to develop diarrhea after using antibiotics varies from person to person. Some patients can start diarrhea within 24 hours of taking the medication, but some patients take 4-9 days to develop symptoms. The stool is usually a large amount of foul-smelling watery stool, sometimes accompanied by abdominal pain, cramps and generalized fever. Treatment Symptomatic treatment can be carried out under the guidance of a professional doctor. For patients with mild symptoms, they can generally relieve themselves without special treatment after stopping the application of antibiotics for 6 weeks, but for patients with heavy diarrhea or diarrhea that has not been relieved after stopping the medication for a period of time, they need to follow medical advice to use drugs such as montelukast and probiotics to achieve the effect of stopping diarrhea.
