Causes of infectious shock complicating percutaneous nephrolithotomy

Percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) has become an important method for surgical management of renal stones, with the advantages of minimally invasive, few complications, and rapid postoperative recovery. However, PCNL still has complications such as infection, bleeding, pain, and adjacent organ damage, among which infective shock is one of the more serious complications of PCNL, with an incidence of 0.06% to 1.10%. i-3. The morbidity and mortality rate of infective shock is reported to be 20% to 63% at home and abroad.’ Once it occurs, the condition is aggressive, rapidly developing and long-lasting, one of the more critical conditions in infection. We reviewed the literature in recent years to make a review of the common causes of PCNL complicated by infectious shock and the progress of prevention and treatment.
