The causes of acne and treatment recommendations

Acne (pimples) is mainly caused by changes in endocrine levels and potential bacterial infections in the hair follicles. Changes in endocrine hormone levels can lead to an increase in skin oil and hyperkeratosis of the hair follicle opening, resulting in the blockage of the follicle opening and the proliferation of bacteria in the hair follicle, leading to acne. There are various types of acne rashes, including blackheads, whiteheads, and “microcomedones” that are invisible to the naked eye, which are responsible for the formation of acne. When the follicles are clogged and bacteria proliferate, the usual red “bumps” and even white pustules will appear, which we call medically “inflammatory papules”. In the later stages of inflammation, the follicle tissue will proliferate and repair, resulting in scar formation, which is commonly known as “acne scars” and “acne marks”. It is not advisable to squeeze these inflamed bumps, because inflamed pimples can easily form scars. The actual fact is that you can find a lot of people who are not able to get a good deal on a lot of things. A two-pronged approach is needed to solve the problem of recurrence and the formation of acne scars. Patients should be reminded that acne is also related to their own constitution. Some patients have a tendency to inherit the disease in their families, while others have acne secondary to some medical conditions. Therefore, when traditional treatment fails to improve the disease, we recommend outpatient visits for relevant examinations and do not treat blindly.
