How much do you know about acne?

What is acne? It is a chronic inflammatory skin disease caused by the blockage and inflammation of hair follicles and sebaceous glands. This is a chronic inflammatory skin disease caused by the blockage and inflammation of hair follicles and sebaceous glands. The disease is mostly seen in adolescents, but it is not exclusive to young people, and can occur in almost all ages, from children to adults. Why do I have acne? ”Acne is mainly due to the androgen secretion in the body, which causes the sebaceous glands to proliferate and increase secretion. As a result of the blockage of the hair follicle and sebaceous gland openings, a state of oxygen deprivation is formed, causing the proliferation of Propionibacterium acnes in the hair follicle, which decomposes the triglycerides in the sebum to produce more free fatty acids, stimulating the hair follicle and the tissue around the hair follicle, resulting in a non-specific inflammatory reaction. Due to genetics and individual immune factors, a few patients may also develop nodular or cystic damage, eventually leaving a scar. Mental stress, a spicy and greasy diet, poor bowel movements, poor sleep quality, addiction to alcohol and tobacco, the effects of certain medications or diseases, and inappropriate makeup and care can all affect one or more of the above-mentioned parts of the disease development process, thus triggering or aggravating the disease. How should I pay attention to my diet if I have “acne”? Patients with acne should pay attention to eating less or no spicy, greasy and sweet foods. Some studies have found that spicy food will aggravate the expansion of skin capillaries and promote the secretion of sebaceous glands, resulting in increased acne damage; while sweets will eventually be converted into lipids after entering the body, thus aggravating the overflow of sebum. Therefore, we recommend that acne patients eat less high-calorie foods, such as spicy, greasy foods and sweets, and increase the intake of fresh vegetables, fruits and other coarse fiber foods. Does makeup have an effect on acne? The use of oily cosmetics can easily cause “acne”, especially for people with oily skin. Oily or powdered cosmetics clog pores and cause poor sebum excretion, resulting in acne, inflammatory papules and small pustules, which we call cosmetic acne. How should I take care of my skin if I have acne? Most acne sufferers have oily skin. When cleaning and removing sebum, we should emphasize “gentle sebum removal”, that is, when removing excess sebum, we should not damage the normal sebum film on the surface of the skin as a protective layer, so it is recommended to choose cleansing products with moisturizing ingredients to wash your face. In addition, while using various oil control products, you should also pay attention to using moisturizing skin care products, as oil control and moisturizing of the skin are not contradictory. Excessive use of oil control products will make the skin dry and dehydrated. Long-term dehydration of the skin destroys the normal barrier function and can easily lead to skin sensitivity or instead aggravate acne.
