What is carpal tunnel syndrome

Carpal tunnel syndrome is a common nerve entrapment syndrome in orthopedics. Because the median nerve is compressed in the carpal tunnel, and a series of symptoms and signs are exhibited, the patient often presents with three finger ends on the radial side, numbness and pain, weakness in holding objects, with the middle finger being the most obvious. Neurological examination can reveal sensory hypersensitivity or dullness in the middle finger, atrophy of the greater interosseous muscle, and weakness of the thumb against the palm. In this condition, in the early stages of the disease, the wrist joint can be kept in a neutral position automatically, while prednisolone can be injected into the carpal tunnel.
