How do I get the correct growth hormone (rhGH) injections?

Growth hormone must be administered by subcutaneous injection. Clinical studies over the years have found that once-daily subcutaneous injections are the most effective and safe method. After years of research, the dose of growth hormone for treating children with growth hormone deficiency is generally 0.1 units per kilogram per day. For example, for a child weighing 20 kg, 2 units of growth hormone can be injected subcutaneously every day. The dose may be increased according to the child’s condition. The packaging of growth hormone drugs varies from one pharmaceutical company to another, with 2.5, 4, 10 and 16 units per vial being common. Growth hormone powder injection is a white powder with a special liquid to dissolve it. Since the growth hormone molecule is a 191 amino acid chain structure, when dissolving the drug, the solution should flow gently through the wall of the vial, and then the vial should be twisted gently and slowly with both hands to dissolve the drug. The solution should not be injected into the vial containing the drug with great pressure, and should not be shaken with force to avoid damaging the natural structure of growth hormone and affecting the efficacy. In recent years, Changchun Jinsai Company in China has also developed aqueous injection of growth hormone, which can be used directly without the dissolution configuration before injection, bringing convenience to children with dwarfism and their parents. Growth hormone medication should generally be kept in a refrigerator at 2-8 ℃, i.e., refrigerated, but not frozen! If you go out, you can prepare a small ice jug to carry with you. Parents or children can learn how to inject the medication, and the family or the child can inject the medication themselves. Growth hormone is usually injected at night. Subcutaneous injection sites can be found around the umbilicus of the abdomen, in the outer upper quadrant of the buttocks, in the near-center half of the area between the g-joint and the knee joint of the anterior lateral thighs bilaterally, and in the near-center half of the area between the shoulder and elbow joints of the lateral forearms, i.e., avoid injecting near the joints (see figure). Rotating the injection sites regularly can avoid local problems such as swelling and pain.                                                                               Diagram of the injection sites for growth hormone
