What is autism in children

Childhood autism is a developmental disorder in children that begins before the age of 3 years and is characterized by social interaction disorders, communication deficits, and restricted, stereotyped and repetitive behaviors. Core symptoms of social interaction disorder: lack of eye contact, “no one in sight”, playing alone, uncooperative; usually not afraid of strangers, does not respond to name calling, dislikes hugs or avoids contact with others. Language disorders: non-verbal or late speech (the first reason for the visit), stereotypical repetitive language, indistinguishable pronouns, etc. Narrow interests and repetitive stereotyped behaviors: wide variety, repetitive actions (spinning, shaking, switching, tearing paper), insistence on sameness.
