The earlier the training of the autistic child begins, the better. As soon as a child is diagnosed (or suspected of having “autistic tendencies”), it is important to provide him with interventional training, as it is the only proven way to correct the condition. In developed countries and regions, children with autism are diagnosed around the age of three, which is why “3-6 years” has always been recommended by experts as the optimal period for training, and because it is also an important stage in the development of the child’s brain. Experiments have shown that the IQ of autistic children can be increased by twelve points if they are trained before school, as confirmed by a study conducted by the University of New Jersey in 1991. This study even showed that the potential for intellectual development of autistic children after training at the pre-school stage exceeds that of normal children, since normal children in the study who also received pre-school training could achieve good grades but hardly experienced any change in their IQ. The results of this test prove that early training of autistic children is effective and show that 3-6 years of age is the critical period. However, many cases have also confirmed that even beyond this age, the correct training method will lead to a significant improvement in the child, and that if the training is abandoned, the child’s condition will only deteriorate, so it is never too late to start.
