What are the principles of treating chronic diseases?

I have read the article “Professor Wang Hui’s thought of using Chinese medicine to prevent and treat tumors” by a famous doctor in Xiamen, and I feel the same. He believes that to treat tumors, it is crucial to regulate the body’s functions, so that people can achieve yin and yang secrecy and recover from self-regulation. He also pointed out that the prerequisite to achieve this is that the patient has a normal diet and sleep, and that the positive energy is strong and the evil is removed. He treats tumors with five common pairs of medicines: Semen and Chen Pi, Poria and Atractylodes, Dragon Bone and Jujube, San and Curcuma, and Hefei and Green Calyx Plum. Two pairs are for regulating the spleen and stomach, two pairs are for regulating sleep and emotions, and only one pair is for activating blood and detoxifying toxins. This coincides with the three principles I usually advocate for the treatment of chronic diseases (including tumors): regulating yin and yang, helping the spleen and stomach, and caring for the mind and spirit.
