How to eliminate a small amount of pleural effusion

A small amount of pleural effusion can be absorbed on its own after treatment for the cause, such as rifampin, remifentan, pyrazinamide, ethambutol and other drugs given after a clear diagnosis of tuberculous pleurisy, and after treatment, a small amount of pleural effusion will usually be absorbed in about a week. If a small amount of pleural effusion is not treated regularly, it is likely that the amount of pleural fluid will increase, and a moderate to large amount of pleural fluid will appear, and symptoms of chest tightness, shortness of breath, and difficulty in breathing will occur. At this time, oral medication alone will not solve the problem, and a solution of thoracentesis and fluid extraction or closed chest drainage is needed. However, it should be noted that the amount of fluid drawn by the first thoracentesis should not exceed 600ml, and after the second day, the amount of thoracentesis should not exceed 1000ml to avoid the occurrence of diplopia pulmonary edema.
