Appendiceal mucinous cystadenoma should be distinguished from appendiceal inflammation, appendiceal mucous cyst, and other tumors of the appendix. 1. Appendiceal inflammation: appendiceal mucinous cystadenoma is extremely rare in clinic, while appendiceal inflammatory disease is common in clinic, the former has no special symptoms and signs when the tumor is small, some of them can have right lower abdominal pain, sometimes can touch the mass, and appendiceal inflammatory disease symptoms are similar, often need to do routine blood test to identify the two. Appendiceal inflammatory lesions often show elevated white blood cells. 2. Appendiceal mucinous cyst: appendiceal mucinous cyst, can be seen in the appendiceal root fecal stone embedded, while appendiceal mucinous cystadenoma leads to the appendiceal root of the appearance of neoplastic soft tissues, generally can be used to identify the two CT. 3. Other appendiceal tumors: appendiceal mucinous cystadenoma is mainly cystic, with less solid component, while other appendiceal tumors are mainly solid, which can be identified by ultrasound. When the examination found appendiceal inflammatory cystadenoma, patients need to actively follow the medical advice, early surgical resection treatment. Post-operative examinations should be conducted regularly.
