How to tell if a nosebleed is caused by a disease

To determine whether the nosebleed is caused by disease, first of all, we should exclude the dry environment, picking the nose and other bad habits, trauma and other causes, in addition to the disease, can be diagnosed through auxiliary examination.
1. Nose picking: the most common cause of nosebleeds is nose picking, some people have the bad habit of nose picking, if you pick your nose hard, it is easy to damage the small blood vessels in the nose, which leads to nosebleeds. If you don’t have the behavior of picking your nose before the nosebleed, and the bleeding is hard to control, you should consider that it may be caused by diseases, and you should consult a doctor as soon as possible to find out the cause.
2. History of trauma: If the nose is strongly attacked or a foreign object enters into the nostril, it can lead to rupture of small blood vessels in the nose and bleeding, which is manifested as nosebleed. If there is no injury to the nose before the nosebleed, and the bleeding is heavy and hard to stop by itself, then it should be considered that it may be caused by diseases, and the doctor should be consulted as soon as possible to find out the cause.
3. Auxiliary examination: Laboratory tests (e.g. hematology, liver and kidney function, etc.), nasal endoscopy, etc., can be used to determine whether the nosebleed is caused by a disease. If the test results are abnormal, it may be caused by a disease, and the cause can be clarified by combining with other clinical symptoms and examinations.
If the nosebleed is large in volume and lasts for a long period of time, it is recommended to go to the hospital promptly after simple treatment to improve the examination and clarify the cause of the nosebleed, and then give targeted treatment or therapy.
