There are many means of non-surgical treatment of gallbladder stones, such as traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture, oral lithotripsy, extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy, etc., but the overall effect is not satisfactory. The most clinically used litholytic drug is ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA). At present, the main lithotriptic drugs are ursodeoxycholic acid (imported drug UDCA), which has a certain effect on dissolving stones for some patients with cholesterol stones, and the stones are less than 1 cm. But it cannot dissolve bilirubin stones. The treatment principle is that ursodeoxycholic acid can increase the secretion of bile acids, leading to changes in the composition of bile acids, which increases their content in bile and reduces the amount of cholesterol and cholesterol esters in bile and the saturation index of cholesterol, thus facilitating the gradual dissolution of cholesterol in bile. This drug was once famous because it was mainly used for the treatment of sediment-like cholesterol stones in the clinic and achieved the effect of dissolving cholesterol stones in some patients, but from the clinical observation of its effect, the drug has a long administration period and has adverse effects such as diarrhea and impaired liver function, and the efficiency of clinical treatment is only about 20%, therefore, for the time being, there is a lack of ideal drugs for lithotripsy therapy. Although drug therapy for gallstones has litholytic effect on some stones, it can cause recurrence of stones after stopping the drug, and the cost of these drugs is not low. Surgery is still the gold standard for the treatment of gallbladder stones.
