Thyroid nodules can be divided into solitary and multiple nodules, with a higher incidence of multiple nodules and a higher incidence of thyroid cancer in solitary nodules. Early thyroid nodules have no obvious symptoms and are usually associated with hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism and other inflammatory conditions. Mid-stage thyroid nodules are characterized by the presence of cystic lesions and the accelerated growth of the cysts. Patients usually feel swelling and pain, and a slight bulge is seen on the surface. Patients in the middle stage may also notice a difference when swallowing food. Patients with advanced thyroid nodules usually have symptoms such as hoarse speech and difficulty swallowing.
