Don’t confuse hemangioma and vascular malformation, they are two different diseases! Hemangioma and vascular malformation: they are two different diseases with different etiology, pathology, internal structure and treatment methods. Older classification methods: capillary hemangioma, cavernous hemangioma, mixed hemangioma, and trapezius hemangioma. These two diseases are viewed in terms of morphology and surface shape, which in itself is a confusion of the two diseases. Hemangioma: It is a benign tumor (rarely malignant) with endothelial cell proliferation characteristics, which can be described as many endothelial cells piled together in a certain structure. It can be congenital or acquired. Vascular malformations: are vascular lesions that can occur in capillaries, veins, lymphatics, and arteries. One type of vascular lesion is predominant, or many types of vascular malformations can be present in one vascular lesion. If the artery is involved: it becomes an arteriovenous malformation.
