Can I take medicine to cure my thyroid nodules?

Malignant nodules or suspected malignant nodules of the thyroid gland must be treated surgically, and thyroid adenomas usually require surgery as well. For patients with nodular goiter, medication has some effect, with nodules shrinking in about 17-25% of patients on levothyroxine, but this is mainly for patients in iodine-deficient areas. For thyroid nodules in iodine-sufficient areas, levothyroxine suppressive therapy is not very effective. Therefore, medication is generally not recommended for patients with nodular goiter in iodine-rich coastal areas that do not require surgical treatment for the time being. An ultrasound examination 1-2 times a year to monitor changes in the nodules is sufficient.
