Can liver cancer be cured? Finally there is an answer!

After long-term exploration and practice, China has made great progress in the treatment of liver cancer, and more and more liver cancer patients have achieved long-term survival through effective treatment. The key to improve the efficacy of liver cancer is early detection and early treatment. Early stage liver cancer, if surgically resected, may have the chance of radical treatment by completely removing the tumor when the liver cancer has not yet developed distant metastases. In recent years, it has been found that non-surgical treatment, i.e. local radiofrequency ablation, can achieve the same efficacy for early stage liver cancer <3cm and before metastasis. However, if the cancer is detected late and has already developed cancer embolism or metastases in the liver, or has already developed distant metastases outside the liver, it is difficult to obtain good treatment effect if the best treatment time is missed. Liver cancer is also a malignant tumor that is prone to recurrence, thus even for patients who have obtained radical surgery, recurrence is still possible. However, if recurrence can be detected at an early stage through regular follow-up examinations after surgery, effective treatment can still be obtained, and then surgical resection, local ablation therapy or chemotherapeutic intervention can be performed at that time, thus prolonging the survival of patients.
