How to determine is cold diarrhea

If a patient blows air conditioner or fan, does not cover the blanket at night, resulting in wind on the abdomen; eats too many cold drinks, ice cream and other cold stimulating foods before diarrhea, or is in a cold environment for a long time, and has symptoms of diarrhea, it is usually considered to be caused by cold. Diarrhea caused by cold is usually power diarrhea, caused by the disorder of gastrointestinal function. It can be relieved by drinking hot water, hot ginger soup, brown sugar water, etc., along with hot compresses on the abdomen. If diarrhea is accompanied by significant abdominal pain, there may be intestinal cramps, which usually do not require antidiarrheal medication, but can be relieved by taking drugs such as cetropium bromide, belladonna tablets, and scopolamine hydrochloride. In addition, the decrease in body resistance after cold may cause viral infection, resulting in the occurrence of gastrointestinal flu, usually accompanied by obvious abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea and other symptoms. If patients have severe diarrhea, they can take drugs such as montelukast and compound phenylephrine to stop the diarrhea. If the symptoms are not relieved by any of the above means, prompt medical consultation is required for differential diagnosis to exclude organic lesions.
