Do cysts go away on their own?

Cysts usually do not disappear on their own. Cysts are a benign disease that can grow on the surface of the body or appear in the internal organs. The need for treatment depends on the nature of the cyst. If the cyst is more than 5 cm surgery is recommended. If the cyst grows inside the uterus or on top of the ovaries, it is more likely to be benign, in which case it can be observed first. If the cysts do not tend to get bigger or cause discomfort, you can start without treatment and just review them regularly. However, if the cyst is malignant, or if the cyst grows to a certain extent and presses on the normal tissues and affects the body’s function, treatment can be performed, but there is no effective medical treatment yet, mainly surgical or interventional treatment. For example, if a cyst grows on the cervix, if the cyst is large, it can be treated through minimally invasive surgery by piercing the cyst with a needle and letting the plasma flow out to be absorbed slowly. Although cysts are benign diseases, they may also become malignant. Therefore, patients with cysts should go for regular checkups to observe the changes of cysts, and if they are gynecological cysts, they should be checked after menstruation.
