What are the effects of having cervical cancer on women when their endocrine function is disrupted?

For the treatment of cervical cancer, we have, in addition to radical cervical surgery, the method of radiation therapy, without removal of the uterus, with later chemotherapy. This surgery can also achieve the goal of preserving the uterus, but perhaps the endocrine is disrupted. The consequence of this is that the estrogen of the ovaries may be the postmenopausal level, will not have menstruation, cannot have children, and in addition to possible mental and neurological symptoms such as hot flashes and night sweats, decreased libido, agitation and irritability, and anxiety, it may also lead to the development of certain diseases such as hypertension, coronary heart disease and osteoporosis, which seriously affect physical and mental health. Therefore, we prefer radical hysterectomy for eligible patients. In the case of very early stage, younger or say not yet had children, we recommend radical cervical surgery. It is the removal of the cervix and its surrounding main ligament, sacral ligament and part of the upper vaginal segment and its surrounding blood supply system and lymph nodes. The body of the uterus is preserved and reconnected to the vagina, and the structure of the pelvic cavity is not greatly altered after the operation compared to the normal pelvis. Of course, there are certain conditions for doing this surgery, the tumor must be early and the tumor must not be too large, preferably less than two centimeters, and preferably the tumor is not of a specific type. The advantage of doing this is that not only can the uterus be preserved, but also the function of fertility and normal menstruation can be preserved, and there is no impact on sexual life.
