When do I need radiotherapy after cervical cancer surgery?

Indications for postoperative adjuvant radiotherapy: 1. Retroperitoneal lymph node metastasis. 2. Parametrial tissue involvement. 3.Vascular involvement. 4.Tumor invasion of deep cervical interstitium (myometrium). 5. Positive surgical margins or vaginal margins <2cm from the lesion. Early stage cervical cancer is mainly treated by surgery, and radiotherapy and chemotherapy are decided according to the surgical pathology; in advanced stage cervical cancer, such as cervical squamous carcinoma stage IIb, most of the metastases are still confined to the pelvic cavity, and radiotherapy + synchronous chemotherapy still have a chance of cure. In advanced cervical cancer, if surgery is followed by radiotherapy and chemotherapy, the effect may not be better than non-surgical treatment, and the quality of life is reduced.
