How to grade the size of breast nodules

The grading of breast nodules is based on breast ultrasound and mammography, not on the size of the nodule. It is usually determined by observing the echogenicity of the nodule, the texture of the breast, the border and the absence of abnormal blood flow signals. It can be routinely graded into 6 levels: 1-3 generally indicate a benign lesion, 5-6 generally indicate a malignant lesion, and 4 is generally between benign and malignant and can be graded into 4A, 4B, and 4C. Grade 4A generally has a 5% probability of malignancy, while grade 4C generally indicates a high probability of malignancy. Usually, benign nodules can be followed up, or surgically removed under local anesthesia if the nodule is considered to be large and affects the aesthetics. If malignant nodes are considered, modified radical breast cancer surgery is generally recommended.
