Breast nodules in category 3 are mostly benign lesions with the possibility of malignancy, but the timing of malignancy cannot be directly inferred. According to the chance of malignancy, breast nodules are clinically classified into 0-6 categories. 0-1 are normal breast; 2 are benign lesions with no risk of malignancy; 3 are mostly benign lesions but have the possibility of malignancy, with less than 2% chance of malignancy, and the time of malignancy cannot be determined; 4-5 have a higher chance of malignancy; 6 have a pathological test can be confirmed as malignant lesions. Breast nodules take a longer time to develop cancer and are affected by a variety of factors, such as patient’s age, poor diet and lifestyle habits, family history of breast cancer, etc. Removing controllable causes can reduce the chance of breast nodules becoming cancerous. Patients with breast nodules are advised to visit the mammography department every six months for review of breast ultrasound or mammogram to detect lesions for timely treatment.
